Book Marketing Strategist & Author Coach
I work with a deliberately limited number of nonfiction authors at a time, building personalized outreach campaigns that reach the communities, institutions, and readers who are genuinely searching for what you've written — not a generic list, not a template, not a spray of ads into the void.
Former Marketing Manager at HarperCollins for ten years, working on hundreds of book launches — and former Growth Marketing Manager at Intuit. Now bringing both publishing-house instincts and growth-marketing discipline to a select group of nonfiction authors.
About
I spent ten years as a Marketing Manager at HarperCollins, working on hundreds of book launches across nonfiction categories. I saw, over and over, the same pattern: brilliant books with real, hungry audiences that never found each other because the marketing stopped at ads, press releases, and influencer outreach.
I later worked as a Growth Marketing Manager at Intuit, where I learned how to think in systems — audience segmentation, funnels, and the kind of outreach infrastructure that compounds rather than expires. I built Book Marketing Strategist & Author Coach work around a simple belief: nonfiction authors don't need more noise, they need to be introduced, personally, to the exact rooms their book belongs in.
Today I work with a deliberately limited number of nonfiction authors at any one time, and I reach out to many of my clients directly myself. Every relationship runs primarily through email — documented, accountable, and easy to revisit at any point in the campaign.
Nonfiction only. I don't split focus across fiction, genre, or general consumer brands — every method I use is built specifically for nonfiction authors and the professional, academic, and community audiences who read them.
I work with a select number of authors at a time, by design. A campaign built for you, not adapted from a template built for someone else.
I personally reach out to authors I believe in. If you're hearing from me first, it's because I've already seen something in your work worth building a campaign around.
Every project is handled professionally through email. It keeps the relationship documented, the decisions traceable, and both of us accountable to what was agreed.
Services
No two nonfiction authors share the same audience, so no two campaigns I build look the same. Below is the full range of what I offer — from the flagship campaign that anchors most client relationships, to the standalone deliverables that support it.
Where most book marketing stops at ads, PR blasts, and influencer pitches, this goes deeper — identifying the specific communities, organizations, clinicians, institutions, and online spaces that genuinely need your book, then building personal, researched outreach to each one. Every campaign is built from scratch around the author's book, audience, and goals. No templates. No spray-and-pray.
A full audit of your Amazon listing, Goodreads profile, website, LinkedIn, and social presence. Everything is assessed before a single outreach email goes out.
Identifying untapped audience segments — professional associations, nonprofit organizations, clinical networks, academic institutions, corporate employee groups, and international markets — and launching the first wave of personalized outreach.
Following up on warm leads and converting interest into orders, reviews, bulk purchases, speaking invitations, or media placements, alongside a second wave of outreach to newly identified targets.
Documenting wins, amplifying momentum, and delivering a clear handoff guide so you can sustain what's been built well beyond the campaign itself.
Every campaign is priced individually based on your book, platform, and goals.
For authors who need a consistent, credible presence but don't have the bandwidth to maintain one. I manage social media across Instagram, Facebook author pages, and LinkedIn — not generic scheduling, but content written in your voice, tied to real milestones, campaign wins, and audience-relevant themes.
For authors who want to keep momentum alive after a campaign concludes. Ongoing, right-sized support so the relationships and visibility built don't go quiet — structured around what each author actually needs next.
Beyond marketing, I help authors navigate the broader publishing process — positioning, platform-building, and the decisions that come before and alongside a launch — so marketing isn't operating in isolation from the rest of your book's journey.
Each of the following can be bundled into a full campaign or commissioned on its own.
Conversion-focused copy that actually sells the book to a browser who's on the fence.
Full profile build-out, cross-posting support for existing reviewers, and Listopia placements.
Short, medium, and long versions tailored for conference programs, podcast intros, and directories.
A clean, professional document that speaks for itself in a booking conversation.
Produced through a vetted video editor, tailored to your audience and campaign focus.
A full press-ready package for authors pursuing media, speaking, or institutional partnerships.
A small detail that does quiet, consistent work in every outreach email you send.
Research, writing, and submission management for book awards relevant to your category and audience.
Targeting professors, curriculum designers, and continuing education programs for assigned reading.
Outreach to corporations, associations, and organizations that buy books in quantity.
For authors whose rights have reverted — full transition to self-publishing, including cover, description, and relaunch strategy.
Exploring how automation can extend an author's reach and outreach infrastructure beyond what manual work alone can sustain.
Publishing Support
Beyond outreach and campaigns, I help authors with the broader publishing process — the decisions, positioning, and platform-building that shape how a book is received long before and long after launch day. Whether you're traditionally published, self-published, or somewhere in between, the marketing strategy should be built around where you actually are in that process, not around a one-size-fits-all playbook.
This is part of why no two campaigns I run look alike. A debut author navigating their first launch needs something different from an established voice with a backlist and an existing readership. I build accordingly, every time.
How I Work
Every campaign starts from your book, your audience, and your goals — never from a recycled framework applied to whoever's next.
Projects and conversations are handled professionally and primarily through email, keeping everything written, traceable, and accountable.
Every outreach email is preceded by real research into the recipient — who they are, why your book matters to them, and what they actually need to hear.
I work with a limited number of authors at a time so that every relationship gets the depth of attention a real campaign requires.
Professional associations, clinical networks, academic institutions, and international markets are explored alongside the usual review and media outreach.
Marketing decisions are made with an understanding of the full publishing process an author is navigating, not in isolation from it.
Let's Talk
If you're a nonfiction author wondering whether your book has found the communities it deserves, send me a note. I read every message myself, and I'll respond with honest thoughts about whether — and how — I can help.
